Ha Giang Grand Tour – 9 Days 8 Nights – Private tour

Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi at 7.30 am, then transfer to Bac Ha town, Lao Cai province in about 6 hours.

In the afternoon, drive to Bao Nhai to take a short boat trip upstream of Chay river to visit a hill tribe village. However, if the water level does not allow the boat trip, we will take you to the valley where the village located by car. After that, we get back to the car and continue driving to Bac Ha town.

If today is Sunday, you will spend most of the time to visit the colorful Bac Ha market. This is the most famous and the biggest hill tribe market in Northwest Vietnam. The market starts early in the morning at about 4.00 am till noon. This is a place for hill tribe people nearby come to purchase cattle, farm products, etc.

After the market, we drive to Xin Man town for lunch.

Continue driving to Hoang Su Phi, then hike for 1.5 hours to Bac Luoc – a Tay ethnic village to stay overnight.

After breakfast, we start trekking up and down the rice terraces in Ban Luoc area. The best time to visit is at the yellow season (between September and October).

Take a short transfer to Vinh Quang town for lunch.

After lunch, continue driving to Nam Son commune where will have another trek (2 hours) to another homestay.

Dinner and overnight in Hoang Su Phi (Nam Ai village).

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the local family and be ready for the full day trekking to discover the amazing rice terraces in Nam Khoa commune. The trekking route is moderate but there are some small challenges (6-7 hours trekking). 

Picnic lunch is on the way.

Late afternoon, we will arrive at Red Dzao village in Nam Hong.

Dinner and overnight in Hoang Su Phi (Nam Hong commune).

After breakfast, we will drive up to the highland region of Ha Giang, you will be impressed by stunning scenery with high passes and majestic mountains.

Afternoon drive is amazing, the landscape on the way to Dong Van Karst Plateau is magnificent. We will stop at Quan Ba pass and Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Pho Cao, Pho Ban for photo opportunities.

Arrive Sa Phin, check-in, and free at your leisure.

Dinner and overnight in Sa Phin.

After breakfast, we will drive to trekking point where we spend around 3 hours trekking (8.5km) to admire the magnificent beauty of the Karst Geo-park. After that, we will visit Lung Cu Flag Tower, hike up to the top to see a panoramic view of the valley.

After lunch, we will trek in the other part of geo-park (6.5km approx.) and end at Old Quarter of Dong Van.

Dinner and overnight in Dong Van.

After breakfast, we will have one hour hike up to the summit of the Cannon Fort in Dong Van town to enjoy the stunning view of the valley. If today is Sunday, you can have a great time to visit a colorful market in the town, hunting some photos while local people are trading. Then, we will head to Meo Vac town, on the way, we will have a chance to stop at Ma Pi Leng Pass with majestic and wild beauty. Standing on the pass, look down to the green and winding Nho Que river, it’s a great place to take the unforgettable photo of Ha Giang.

Lunch is in Meo Vac.

Continue driving to Du Gia Commune, Yen Minh district for another night at homestay of Tay family.

Dinner and overnight in Du Gia.

After breakfast, we will visit the village and its surroundings. If the weather is warm enough, you can swim at a waterfall nearby.

Then, come back to the homestay to check out and drive to Ha Giang.

After breakfast, driving a full day back to Hanoi.
