Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi at 7.30 am, then transfer to Bac Ha town, Lao Cai province in about 6 hours.

In the afternoon, drive to Bao Nhai to take a short boat trip upstream of Chay river to visit a hill tribe village. However, if the water level does not allow the boat trip, we will take you to the valley where the village located by car. After that, we get back to the car and continue driving to Bac Ha town.

If today is Sunday, you will spend most of the time to visit the colorful Bac Ha market. This is the most famous and the biggest hill tribe market in Northwest Vietnam. The market starts early in the morning at about 4.00 am till noon. This is a place for hill tribe people nearby come to purchase cattle, farm products, etc.

After the market, we drive to Xin Man town for lunch.

Continue driving to Hoang Su Phi, then hike for 1 hour to Bac Luoc – a Tay ethnic village to stay overnight.

Day 3: Hoang Su Phi Trek (Ban Luoc Commune) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we start trekking up and down the rice terraces in Ban Luoc area. The best time to visit is at the yellow season (between September and October).

Take a short transfer to Vinh Quang town for lunch.

After lunch, continue driving to Nam Son commune where will have another trek (2 hours) to another homestay.

Day 4: Hoang Su Phi Trek (Nam Khoa Commune) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the local family and be ready for the full day trekking to discover the amazing rice terraces in Nam Khoa commune. The trekking route is moderate but there are some small challenges (6-7 hours trekking).

Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Hanoi then head to Nam Dinh province in 3.5 hours. The province is famous for its good quality of seafood and Xuan Thuy Mangrove National Park. 

Upon arrival, we will take a boat ride through a part of Xuan Thuy Mangrove National Park in around 30 minutes before getting into a clam farming area where you will have a chance to learn about local clam farming.

Lunch is at clam farming.

After lunch, we cruise back to the shore and drive to visit the afternoon fish market (if you do not mind waking up early, you can choose to visit the fish market next morning). Then, we will visit a home-made fish sauce family and learn how they make the traditional fish sauce. Finally, you will a cycling trip through the villages and farming land to watch more about the rural lifestyle.

Dinner and overnight in Nam Dinh.

Day 2: Nam Dinh – Ninh Binh (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

In the early morning, we will visit the salt flats and see how farmers making salt and see the sunrise. Then we go back to the homestay for breakfast, check-out, and head to Ninh Binh.

On the way, we will visit Co Le pagoda – one of the famous and special pagodas with a combination of Vietnamese and European architecture.

Lunch is at a local restaurant in Tam Coc.

In the afternoon, you will join a boat trip in Thung Nang where you can enjoy the magnificent scenery of limestone mountain.

Dinner and overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 3: Ninh Binh – Bac Binh village (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will visit Mua Cave – hike up around 500 steps to the peak to see the panorama view of Tam Coc area. You will be impressed by the stunning landscape and it is also a great chance to have great photos in Ninh Binh.

Lunch is at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we drive toward Hanoi and then onward to Vinh Phuc province.

Day 4: Bac Binh village – Bac Ha (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Before breakfast, we will visit a family to learn about sericulture, then we will take an easy cycling trip through the village and rice fields. Around 10.00 am, we will come back homestay, check-out, and drive to Lao Cai province.

Dinner and overnight in Bac Ha town.

Day 5: Bac Ha – Hoang Su Phi (Ban Luoc) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

If today is Sunday, you will spend most of the time to visit the colorful Bac Ha market. This is the most famous and the biggest hill tribe market in Northwest Vietnam. The market starts early in the morning at about 4.00 am till noon. This is a place for hill tribe people nearby come to purchase cattle, farm products, etc.

After the market, we drive to Xin Man town for lunch.

Continue driving to Hoang Su Phi, then hike for 1.5 hours to Bac Luoc – a Tay ethnic village to stay overnight.

Day 6: Hoang Su Phi Trek (Ban Luoc Commune) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we start trekking up and down the rice terraces in Ban Luoc area. The best time to visit is at the yellow season (between September and October).

Take a short transfer to Vinh Quang town for lunch.

After lunch, continue driving to Nam Son commune where will have another trek (2 hours) to another homestay.

Dinner and overnight in Hoang Su Phi (Nam Ai village).

Day 7: Hoang Su Phi Trek (Nam Khoa Commune) (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we say goodbye to the local family and be ready for the full day trekking to discover the amazing rice terraces in Nam Khoa commune. The trekking route is moderate but there are some small challenges (6-7 hours trekking). 

Picnic lunch is on the way.

Late afternoon, we will arrive at Red Dzao village in Nam Hong.

Dinner and overnight in Hoang Su Phi (Nam Hong commune).

Day 8: Hoang Su Phi – Quan Ba – Yen Minh (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will drive up to the highland region of Ha Giang, you will be impressed by stunning scenery with high passes and majestic mountains.

Lunch is at a local restaurant in Ha Giang City.

In the afternoon, we will stop at Quan Ba pass and Quan Ba Heaven Gate for photo opportunities.

Continue driving to Yen Minh for another night.

Day 9: Yen Minh – Dong Van – Meo Vac (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will drive further into the center of the geo-park to visit Pho Bang ancient town of Han (Chinese) minority and the residence of the Vuong family as known as “ The Palace of Hmong King”.

Lunch is on the way.

After lunch, continue driving to Meo Vac and visit Ma Pi Leng pass which considered the most stunning mountain pass in Vietnam.

Day 10: Meo Vac – Ba Be National Park (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will drive to Bac Kan Province to visit Ba Be Lake – the giant freshwater lake which is located inside Ba Be National Park.

Late afternoon, we will arrive homestay of Tay people.

Dinner and overnight in Ba Be.

Day 11: Ba Be Lake – Cao Bang City (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, you will take a boat ride around Ba Be lake and along Nang river until you reach Dau Dang waterfall and Puong Cave.

Around noon, get back to private vehicles and transfer to Cho Ra town for the lunch.

Then continue driving to Cao Bang City.

Day 12: Ban Gioc Waterfall and Nguom Ngao Cave (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will drive for 3 hours to Trung Khanh district which shares the border with China. Upon arrival at Ban Gioc Waterfall, we will take a bamboo raft to visit the waterfall.

Lunch is at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will visit Nguom Ngao cave which is 2 kilometers away from the waterfall before driving back to Cao Bang.

Day 13: Cao Bang – Bac Son Valley (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

After breakfast, we will depart to Bac Son valley which belongs to Lang Son province. On the way, you can have some stops for short-break and photo opportunities.

Lunch is at Quynh Son village.

This afternoon, we will walk around to visit the village and hike up to the top of the telephone-station mountain for the stunning view of the valley below.

Day 14: Bac Son Valley – Halong Bay (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

As the driving route this morning is quite long and we need to be at Halong bay by noon, hence, we will start a bit early.

Arrive Halong bay by noon, you will get on boat, check-in and have lunch.

In the afternoon, you will visit a cave, go kayaking and swimming.

Day 15: Halong Bay – Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch)

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise and quiet moment on the top deck of the boat.

Then enjoy the magnificent scenery of Halong bay while the boat cruising slowly.

Having brunch before getting back to the harbor.

Disembark the boat and drive back to Hanoi.

Then drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon and end the tour at your hotel.
